 In total 486 fishing seiners were built from 1967 to 1984 in the USSR.  Also on the basis of design 388M were built 33 research vessels, for example "Osmotritelnyy" type. About 15 seiners were used in research purposes (very likely from the beginning). Some of research vessels in 90s were converted to fishing seiners.
 388M design also called as "Manevrennyy" type.
